Greeting everyone!
I am so excited to welcome you to my official blog as Miss Perham 2011. It is so exciting to write that! Every year since I was a little girl, I have attended the Miss Perham Pageant. I honestly looked forward to it weeks before the date. When pageant day would finally arrive, I was ecstatic! My Mom would let me choose one special outfit to wear to the pageant (usually it consisted of one of my new outfits and tennis shoes, which were supposed to wait, for school in the fall). I still remember watching Elizabeth Tweeton, and several young woman after her be crowned Miss Perham....and on Friday night I wasn't watching, it was me! I am so honored to be your Miss Perham this year. I am so excited to represent the people in my community who have touched my life forever. I am thankful for your support always.
These last few days have been so crazy with first appearances as your Miss Perham. After the week of long rehearsals, and of course an exciting competition the fun did not end! On Saturday morning I was up bright and early for a full day of work at "The Wild Goose." I was very excited to see everyone come in and was thankful for many "Congratulations." On Saturday night I headed to Frazee, Minnesota to watch the Miss Frazee and Miss Frazee's Outstanding Teen Pageant. Congrats to the new Miss Frazee Katie Winter and her outstanding teen Hailey Jutz. May you both have a blessed year of service. Congrats also to the outgoing queens Emily and Ellie. You are both so beautiful and talented! Your community should be proud.
Today I spent more time in Frazee and was thrilled to see many smiling faces at the parade, and of course have my first experience as Miss Perham on the Perham Express. It was pretty warm today, but I know the heat will be gone before we know it. Seeing many people join to celebrate "community" is such a fantastic sight. Thank you to the community of Frazee for welcoming me to your "famous" Turkey Days! A huge thanks also to my drivers Jeff Fritz and Merl Thompson.
My next appearance will be at the Turtle Races this Wednesday!... I can't wait! So here is your official invite. I hope to see you there.
I am so anxious about this year ahead of me! It is going to busy, but full of excitement. May you continue to enjoy these beautiful summer days.
God's blessings to you!
